Academic Integrity Policy
QUEST Academy is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity across all areas of teaching, learning, and research. The Academy emphasizes that theological education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but a formative process that shapes the spiritual and intellectual character of the learner. Therefore, all students are expected to submit original academic work that reflects their personal effort, understanding, and engagement with the Word of God, whether in assignments, projects, or research work.
Academic integrity reflects the student’s commitment to the biblical values of honesty and truthfulness, as taught in the Gospel. It serves as a practical exercise in moral and spiritual discernment, as honest academic work strengthens the ability to serve faithfully and effectively in the church and society. Adherence to these principles ensures the development of critical thinking grounded in Scripture and equips students to respond to contemporary challenges with clarity, responsibility, and spiritual maturity.
Forms of Academic Misconduct
Academic misconduct includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- ▪ Plagiarism: Using ideas, texts, or work of others without proper citation or acknowledgment.
- ▪ Submitting work completed by another person: Including assignments, projects, or research produced by a peer or third party.
- ▪ Use of unauthorized sources or tools: Utilizing software, websites, or learning tools not permitted by the course instructor.
- ▪ Unauthorized collaboration: Working with other students, sharing answers, or discussing assignments without explicit permission.
- ▪ Cheating in assessments: Using any method to provide false answers or gain unfair academic advantage.
- ▪ Tampering with the learning platform: Attempting to alter assignments, grades, or bypass the Academy’s digital security systems.
- ▪ Duplicate or falsified submissions: Submitting the same work across multiple courses without approval, or falsifying supporting data or documents.
- ▪ Digital identity fraud: Logging into another student’s account or submitting work on behalf of another student.
- ▪ Disruption of the learning environment: Interrupting online sessions, posting harmful content, or negatively affecting the learning experience of others.
- ▪ Reuse of previously submitted work: Submitting work that has already been used in another academic or non-academic context without authorization.
Collaboration between students is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorized by the course instructor. Any violation of these rules is considered a breach of academic integrity and is subject to the disciplinary actions outlined in the Academy’s academic policies.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence tools may be used as learning aids within defined limits, such as:
- ▪Understanding general concepts
- ▪Organizing ideas
- ▪Improving language and clarity
However, AI tools may not be used for:
- ▪ Writing assignments in full
- ▪ Producing academic content without substantial personal contribution
- ▪ Cheating in examinations or assessments
Any use of AI tools must be properly disclosed, including a clear explanation of the student’s own contribution to the work. If AI usage is not disclosed, the Academy reserves the right to apply advanced detection methods. Excessive reliance on AI tools—defined as contributing more than 25% of the content of an assignment or project—will be considered a serious violation of academic integrity.
Such violations will be treated as academic misconduct and may result in a grade of zero for the assignment, along with an official academic warning in accordance with the Academy’s disciplinary policy. These measures are designed to protect student effort and ensure the credibility and fairness of academic assessment.
